Spring 2012 Campaign Round Up

Spring campaign season is getting started early this year and several supermodels we love have glammed up for an ad moment. We've got gorgeous leggy mom Gisele Bundchen gracing Givenchy campaign, in addition to the blue-ish Versace one, and we also love seeing major models give us their best disgruntled but dangerously chic '50s housewife pouts and watching Prada's flame-printed chiffons fan out against gleaming hot rods.

Style Icon of The Year: Alexa Chung

Kate Middleton may be British fashion's number one international ambassador and top of Harper's Bazaar's best dressed list this year, but it seems the Duchess of Cambridge didn't quite do enough to win her public's vote when it came to the British Fashion Awards's Style Icon crown. That honour was given, for the second year running, to my favorite Alexa Chung, who proved herself a hard act to beat.

Festive Alert (Wish List Round-up)

It's been one month and 24 days since my previous update... Sorry for lack of posting. Some of you might have heard about flooding stories ravaging Bangkok (if you haven't, now you do). It's the worst disaster we've ever encountered. My house is located in one of the city's most flood-prone areas, and as sadly as the story goes, it has been flooded for almost a month now. Unavoidably, we had to evacute to safe place and now I'm channeling the life of foreign tourist, staying in guesthouse on Khao Sarn Rd, near my workplace. It's one of the saddest time for us, not just my family, but more than one million people affected by the flood.

We've been so stressful that we almost forgot that it's approching the end of November. Yes, Christmas is just around the corner, the best time of year! Have any of you had a plan, vacation, wishlist or whatever in place? I've been browsing some stuff too and here's what I've come up with.

Sweet Candy Story

There's still a few days to go until Paris Fashion Week closes its curtain but I really can't fight the urge to work on a trend recap of next season's color. They were just Too refreshing! So now here's the idea of what you'll need to buy for your spring wardrobe. It might be a bit early, but hey, can you resist it?

Daily Obsession : Marie Hamm

Oh Em Gee I can't believe it! After almost three years in fashion blogosphere, it's just today that I discovered this amazing girl. Where the heck have I been? If you have no idea what I'm whining about, let's meet Marie Hamm, model, stylist and owner of themavenpost.com. This girl has such a super perfect figure, long blond hair and undeniable expensive taste. Did you see how she rocks those maxi skirts? I'm dying for those legs. But yeah come to think of it she was born a model. How lucky?

The Most Important Thing About Dream Is Having One

Abbey Lee does her best Twiggy impersonation in a mod '60s inspired shoot for I-D Fall 2011.

Hey Baby, Show Me Your Belly

Versace

Normally, it's too early for me to start writing about spring trends while fall just kicked start. It made me confused when shopping for clothes for the current season. Like last time I was thinking about buying a burgundy top, but then a little voice in my head said "hey dude! you have two burgundy skirts sitting in your closet, that's enough for fall! It's all about pastel next season!" As a result, I walked away with nothing.

Anyway, here's one of the next big things coming to town in spring-summer 2012. Bandeau top has been seen all over the runway from New York to Milan. They can be worn solely with high waist skirt or under blazer. Not hiding under sheer top, they are detailed and meant to be seen.

Biker Chic

Who would have thought that this 2-wheeled invention would become one of cool props for fashion peeps these days? We've seen lots and lots of snapshots involving people and their bike, the most convenient means of transportation during fashion week. Well-regarded Parisian chic Catherine Baba was caught very often riding to and fro to the runway shows, of course in her most glamourous costumes. How people manage to pedal in thick fur and highheels is still mysterious to me?
Talking about Catherine, are you guys ready for Paris Fashion week? And what's your favorite show in Milan? Mine goes to a lovely pastel collection from Muiccia Prada and by the time I was writing this, I was anticipating to see what she has to offer for Miu Miu. These two brands are getting more and more adorable these days, ain't they?
